Arts

Union Grove Christian School provides an avenue for all students to broaden their God-given skills in the area of fine arts. Well-trained staff members direct students in the areas of art, music, and speech. Weekly art and music classes are provided for elementary students starting in the first grade. Daily choir, handbell, and speech classes are offered as electives starting in the seventh grade. These classes are curriculum-based and delve into a variety of genres.

The students at UGCS have multiple occasions to showcase what they have learned in the fine arts classes.

Elementary students are able to participate in music and/or drama in the Grandparent’s Day program in the fall and the Christmas program in December. These programs are always highlights of the school year.

In addition, students (elementary and high school) have opportunities to compete in the NCCSA state fine arts competition in the spring. High school students which win on the state level, advance to compete on the national level at Bob Jones University.

Lastly, UGCS hires the world-renowned Academy of the Arts to instruct our high school students in a week-long camp that concludes with a full-length dramatic production.

In all, UGCS students have ample opportunities to learn, perform, and compete in the area of fine arts.
